Dicyrtomina saundersi on the underside of a frosty fallen leaf. Warwickshire, December 2012.

Note the bothriotrichum. Thid structure if typical of the Dicyrtomidae. Bothriotricha are mechano-receptive sensilla, placed in a cuplike depression of the skin, that register 3D movements of the shaft (the function can be compared with that of a joy-stick).
