It had me fooled for a moment!

I visited a large patch of local Ivy, to see what insects it was attracting. It was covered with a variety bees, wasps and flies but I was hoping to see a Hornet. I heard a loud deep hum and a very large insect landed; I was sure it was a Hornet. But no, it was the hornet-mimic hoverfly - Volucella zonaria (also know as the Hornet Plumehorn). It had me fooled for a moment!
