Halictus rubicundus

Halictus rubicundus is common and widespread. Both sexes have orange/yellow hind legs. The females have prominent, white abdominal hair bands. It is a mainly social species. The queens emerge in April and the first workers in May. The subsequent brood of males and new queens is active from July to October.
