Andrena bucephala (f)

Andrena bucephala (f) - Andrena bucephala
A group of Andrena bucephala females, Warwickshire, May 2012. I think these are newly-emerged individuals.

This is a view down into a broken grave plot. The nest is inside and the bees enter and leave via this hole in the broken slab.

Photo comment By Paul Westrich: Dear Edward, these are very good images of Andrena bucephala. The typical characters are easy to recognize. The nesting site I had found many years ago has meanwhile been destroyed due to intensive mowing. Congratulations on your garden book and the brilliant photos contained. A friend had sent me the link to your website. Best wishes Paul
