Andrena nigroaenea

Early bees, that fly March to the end of May. They are widely distributed in the UK and forage on arange of flowers.

The females are robust and hairy, with orange hairs on the thorax and orange/yellow pollen hairs on the hind tibia. The abdomen is dark brown with bands of golden hair. The tip of the abdomen is black. The males are smaller and slimmer with paler hairs.
