Andrena haemorrhoa

A distinctive Andrena species, Andrena haemorrhoa females having a rusty red thorax with white hairs on the face and underside and a diagnostic red tip to the abdomen. Males are smaller than the females and the hairs are much lighter. They have a mostly bald abdomen with orange hairs at the tip. The third antennal segment is shorter than the fourth, the latter being almost twice as long as wide.
